    Description

Souvenir plate from the 1905 Lewis & Clark Exposition in Portland, Oregon.  Classic Staffordshire "flow blue" transferware, by Roland & Marcellus.  This is the standard larger format 10" plate size used for souvenirs from a number of Expositions in the early 20th Century (please see one of my other listings for the much scarcer saucer size).  This is the (presumably) later version with "Idaho" spelled correctly.  As a souvenir relatively common in the Northwest as these were very popular at the time, less so elsewhere naturally as this Expo was largely a local event.  An attractive, largely problem free example. Some tiny edge chips/voids, some of which may be as-made, The Glaze on front of plate is as near mint as you will find, thank you and good luck!
