    This business acquired store cards from the Lanphear shop in Cincinnati.  A single obverse die was combined with four or five stock reverse dies for token production.  One variety originally reported by the Fulds may not actually exist.  This merchants' tokens were only struck on copper planchets.  The reverse die for this rare variety was prepared by one of Lanphear's employees, Frederick Lutz, and his last name appears on the die.  This is a nice uncirculated specimen.
