    Comments:
This Broas Pie Baker Store Card Civil War token is in nice original condition. There is some pitting on the obverse, while the reverse has a nice field and good detail. There is rubbing / wear on the high points, due to normal handling and storage. It has not been cleaned and has nice original color.
    According to the Internet
    :
    Die Sinker
    Charles D. Horter’s
tokens mostly circulated in New York City area. Most are small, lightweight, but well struck while his workmanship was of uneven quality. Some strikes are bold and even, and others faint, uneven and worn or rusty. His shop was across the street from Emil Sigel and there is evidence of the two swapping dies. He was strongly pro-Union and his tokens are easily obtained.
This Broas Pie Baker Store Card token will make a very nice addition to either your Civil War or vintage New York token collection.
