CONDITION : Good considering the age. Used.
There are some peeling glaze on the rim. But it can not be helped. because this is an old item. And it is not a problem for use. Because it is not a serious damages.
AGE : Abour 300 yeas ago. It is the early Edo period.
This is the old original. This is never an imitation.
MATERIAL : Blue-and-white porcelain of Imari-yaki of KO-IMARI of AI-KAKI.
IMARI-yaki is a general term of porcelain that has been produced in the Hizen area centered onthe current Saga Prefecture. It has a long history. Origin is a 17 century. And it is also famous as the birthplace of Japanese porcelain.
About KO-IMARI (real old Imari). Typically, Imari over the middle of the 18th century is KO-IMARI. It has an unique atmosphere and work that is not in general Imari. And it is precious because it is very rare.
About AI-KAKI. That is the generic term manifesting old IMARI porcelain of highest-class in the early Edo period. Generally, it is said that the great ceramist's Kakiemon made it. Coloring of the wonderful blue-and-white porcelain is very very popular. And the old real of that is very very rare and is very very precious.
