Description
A beautiful collectible set of four U.S. postage stamps issued on March 30th, 1968 in conjunction with the first international exposition held in Southwestern United States, HemisFair '68. The overall theme, "Confluence of Civilization in the Americas" highlighted the cultural diversity of it's host city, San Antonio, Texas. More than 6.3 million visitors and 30 nations participated in the fair. Several structures were built for the fair, including the 622 foot Tower of the Americas. Today, HemisFair Park is a lasting legacy to the fair. These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as they were the day they were first sold at the post office over 50 years ago! Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift for anyone who lives in the area or attended the Fair over 50 years ago!
