Description

Rare, Vintage, HURD Super Caster rod and reel combo. Manufactured in Detroit, USA, late 1945 or 1946. Rod, reel, carrying case are in really good shape. Includes the original "spine rod" to protect the rod and reel. Rod and spine are made from a World War II M4 Sherman Tank antennae. Reel is made like it was assembled from a watch maker. Solidly constructed. All the rod eyes are original with the yellow and red thread, and sturdy. Carrying case has no tears. Zipper works just fine. Serial # is 58970. Walnut handle is hand carved by HURD and has no chips. Rod is 51 inches from the eye tip to the end base. Rod his 4 eyes which includes the tip. The "spine rod" is 51 1/8 inches. Total length of rod and reel handle is 60 inches. Hard to fine a better one than this. Shipping includes insurance.
