Description
Imari porcelain plate1840 - 1880
It measures 6 1/4" diameter and 7/8" high.
It is hand-painted in underglaze blue and overglaze colors of red, green and gold.
Peony floral patterns, and kiku (chrysanthemum) karakusa scroll on the back side.
Good condition but some gold wear and several glaze chips (2-3mm) on the top rim.
No cracks or other chips.
The plate rings when it is tapped on the rim top.
Note:
Some minor kiln flaws such as dust-like sand trapped on or in the glaze, somewhat irregular asymmetrical forms & shapes, wobbliness, brown pimple like burn spots- these are typical characters of antique Japanese porcelain. Before you bid, please kindly take this as your consideration. It might not be as perfect as it may appear in the photo.
