Lot consists of an Unused, Original, 1985 TSUKUBA EXPO'85 JAPAN WORLDS FAIR EXPOSITION - CHILD'S ID TAG featuring the Expo's Mascot "Cosmo". This is an Original, Child Identification - Pin Back Tag from the 1985 Exposition, not a reprint, reissue, or copy made at a later date.
Expo '85, officially called The International Exposition, Tsukuba, Japan, 1985 (Kokusai Kagaku Gijutsu Hakurankai, "The International Science Technology Exposition"), was a world's fair held in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan (Tsukuba Science City, a planned city focused on technology north of Tokyo) between Sunday, March 17 and Monday, September 16, 1985. The theme of the fair was "Dwellings and Surroundings - Science and Technology for Man at Home". The official mascot of Expo '85 was Cosmo Hoshimaru. Maki Takagaki, a junior high school student designed the mascot which was chosen as part of a nationwide competition by school children.
ID tag is approx. 4-7/8" high x 2-1/2" wide and comes with it's original safety pin type on back of tag. Child's Tag has only light signs of handling on edges and corners. There are some light pressure marks on face of tag from being stacked on top of each other when originally produced.
