    Description

    Rare Antique Japanese Imari Boat and Rooster Plate 7”. Sold INDIVIDUALLY, or at a lower rate for multiple. This Imari plate features a boat scene on the top half and roosters in red on the bottom half. It measures approximately 7” diameter. These plates have a raised foot with accent rings. There are kiln flaws, such as brown spots/ pinhole reserves- these are flaws that are present or occur during the firing process. There is wear to the gilding (gold rim) and other areas as expected for an older item. There are no chips or cracks. Imari ware is a Western term for a brightly-coloured style of Arita ware Japanese export porcelain made in the area of Arita, in the former Hizen Province, northwestern Kyūshū.
