Vintage Red Abu Ambassadeur 5000 Bait Casting Reel W/ Case, Book, Parts - Sweden

Description

Up for sale is a vintage red Abu Ambassadeur 5000 bait casting reel.  It comes with its case, parts tube and parts, oil bottle, wrench and instruction book.  Serial number 172340.  I think this indicates mid-sixties production.  It was made in Sweden and so marked on the side plate.  It has four screws.  Cosmetically, the reel is in good condition.  There is a some rash or on the top of both side plates as shown in the photos.  The brown leather case has some damage shown in the photos.  The markings "Ambassadeur Sweden" with no crest indicate 60's production.  The crank handles are in very good condition.  The parts tube appears full.  Mechanically, the reel is in good working order.  The action is smooth and the anti-reverse, level wind, release and drag mechanisms work fine.  Please take a look at the enlarged photos, as they accurately depict the condition of this reel.
