    NO RESERVE
    This "no reserve" auction is for a rare vintage circa 1870 MEEK & MILAM, FRANKFORT, KY. "NO 3" German silver fishing (casting) reel with a 12 o'clock crank position.  This reel is in excellent working and appearing condition.  There is what appears to be a very old smooth, thin coating of some
    metalic
    substance (e.g. solder ?) on the underside of the foot covering the screws.  Why it's there is a bit of a mystery because the foot definitely appears original,
    undisturbed,
    and securely attached by the screws (please view picture).  This reel is approximately 1 15/16" in diameter, and 2 1/4" wide.
